Job summary

BrookLodge & Macreddin Village is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Crew member to ensure hotel facilities, guest rooms, and public areas operate smoothly to the highest standards.

You will troubleshoot and carry out repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems, while working closely with housekeeping, front desk and F&B teams to support guest needs. Flexibility for shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities role, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of general maintenance procedures and equipment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, standing for long periods.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Proactive and team-oriented attitude.
• Trade qualification or technical training.
• Valid driver’s licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Manager in their role.
• Lead by example with the Maintenance Crew.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance of hotel facilities, guest rooms, and common areas.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
• Carry out basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.
• Monitor and manage building systems such as heating, lighting, and water supply.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for events or functions as required.
• Work collaboratively with housekeeping, front desk, and F&B teams to support guest needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in all maintenance work areas.
• Follow health and safety protocols and ensure compliance with hotel standards and local regulations.
• Report any major maintenance issues or equipment faults to the Maintenance Manager.
