Job summary

Dromoland Castle Hotel & Country Estate in Ireland is seeking an experienced Resort General Maintenance Technician to join our luxury property and uphold exceptional guest experiences. You will perform routine maintenance across the estate and ensure guest areas remain in excellent condition.

Join a proactive team with strong HVAC, plumbing and electrical knowledge, and a commitment to health & safety and high-quality facilities. Weekend work is rotated within a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general maintenance systems.
• Good health and safety awareness and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine preventative maintenance across the estate.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Perform general mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and repair tasks.
• Support HVAC maintenance and general facilities upkeep.
• Ensure guest rooms and public areas remain in excellent working condition.
• Record daily maintenance tasks using the hotel's maintenance software/app.
• Maintain clean, safe stores and workspaces.
• Assist with preventative maintenance planning and implementation.
• Liaise with external contractors when required.
• Uphold all Health & Safety standards and procedures.

Dromoland Castle resort is currently seeking an experienced and reliable Resort General Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within one of Ireland's most renowned luxury hospitality destinations, celebrated for exceptional guest experiences, stunning surroundings, and outstanding service standards. We are looking for a proactive, hands-on professional who takes pride in maintaining high-quality facilities and ensuring our guests enjoy a seamless and comfortable stay.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out routine preventative maintenance across the estate
• Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests and emergencies
• Perform general mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and repair tasks
• Support HVAC maintenance and general facilities upkeep
• Ensure guest rooms and public areas remain in excellent working condition
• Record and track daily maintenance tasks using the hotel's maintenance software/app
• Maintain clean, safe, and organised maintenance stores and workspaces
• Assist with preventative maintenance planning and implementation
• Liaise with external contractors when required
• Uphold all Health & Safety standards and procedures

Working Hours:

• Full-time position
• 5 days over 7, Monday to Sunday
• Shift hours between 8:00am - 8:00pm
• Weekend work required on a rotational basis

The Ideal Candidate:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar maintenance or industry role
• Relevant trade qualification
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance systems
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Positive, professional, and team-focused attitude
• Previous hospitality or hotel experience is an advantage
