About the Role
Hodson Bay Hotel is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the property.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will help maintain a safe, efficient and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete planned preventative, reactive and emergency maintenance across the hotel, leisure centre, plant areas and grounds.
- Carry out routine inspections, plant checks and meter readings to identify potential faults before equipment failure.
- Diagnose faults and complete first-line mechanical and electrical repairs.
- Maintain and troubleshoot pumps, motors, boilers, heating and hot-water systems, HVAC, BMS, lighting, plumbing and hotel operational equipment.
- Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests and breakdowns, prioritising issues in a busy hotel environment.
- Support energy-efficiency initiatives and maintain accurate work orders, PPM documentation and compliance records.
- Liaise with specialist contractors and maintain appropriate stocks of tools, parts, consumables and critical spares.
- Complete all work safely and to a high standard, support wider facilities tasks and participate in an on-call or out-of-hours rota where required.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a hands-on technical maintenance, facilities or engineering role, ideally in hospitality or a similar commercial environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems, including pumps, motors, HVAC, heating systems, controls and other building-services equipment.
- Strong preventative-maintenance, fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise issues in a busy operational environment.
- Ability to understand technical information, equipment manuals and basic electrical or mechanical schematics, with a strong focus on safety.
- Good communication skills and a flexible, practical approach, with the ability to work independently and with colleagues and contractors. A full driving licence is essential.
