About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Waiter to join the team at NOONIK Bistro in Ubud, Bali. This is a full-time position where you will be at the heart of our hospitality operations, delivering exceptional service and creating memorable dining experiences for our guests. This is a guest-focused waiter role for someone who enjoys engaging with guests, recommending our food and beverages, and creating memorable dining experiences - not simply taking orders and delivering plates. This role is based on-site at our Ubud location.

What you'll be doing

Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and creating a welcoming, personalized dining experience throughout their visit

Taking accurate food and beverage orders while engaging guests through knowledgeable menu explanations, recommendations and menu storytelling

Proactively identifying guest preferences and opportunities to recommend additional food, beverages, desserts and premium selections through natural and effective upselling

Serving food and drinks promptly and professionally, ensuring items are delivered accurately and presented to the correct guests

Maintaining impeccable table presentation, cleanliness and overall dining atmosphere throughout the service

Building genuine rapport with guests and anticipating their needs to create memorable dining experiences

Responding promptly to guest requests and handling concerns with empathy, confidence and professionalism, escalating issues to the supervisor or management when required

Processing payments and handling transactions accurately and discreetly

Collaborating closely with kitchen, bar and service teams to ensure smooth and efficient service flow

Restocking tables, clearing used crockery and glassware efficiently and discreetly while maintaining guest comfort

Adhering to NOONIK Bistro's service, health, safety and hygiene standards at all times

Supporting the team during busy service periods and assisting with setup, breakdown and other operational requirements as needed

Actively contributing to guest satisfaction, positive reviews and repeat visits through exceptional service and hospitality

What we're looking for

Previous experience as a waiter or in a similar front-of-house hospitality role, preferably in a quality restaurant, hotel or lifestyle dining environment

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence and ability to engage naturally with international guests

Genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences

Strong sales and upselling skills, with the ability to recommend food and beverages naturally without making guests feel pressured

Strong food and beverage knowledge, or a willingness to continuously develop product knowledge and menu storytelling skills

Outgoing, approachable and confident personality with the ability to build genuine rapport with guests

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tables while maintaining personalized service

Ability to remain calm, professional and solution-oriented during busy service periods

Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and dining etiquette

Reliable, punctual, proactive and positive, with a strong team-oriented attitude

Physically capable of standing for extended periods and carrying trays safely

Flexible to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

Fluency in English is essential; additional languages are highly advantageous

Willingness to learn and consistently uphold NOONIK Bistro's service standards, product knowledge and hospitality philosophy
