Job summary

Amartha seeks a Head of Engineering to lead both strategic and hands-on technical initiatives. The role involves setting team goals, hiring engineers, prioritizing projects, and actively building new products from scratch.

The team comprises 100+ engineers; you will work with product teams to create innovative, scalable fintech solutions, drive data-intensive SaaS platforms, and ensure robust architecture and incident management.

Qualifications

• Experience in fintech/financial domain is a plus.
• Hands-on GCP tech experience: Cloud SQL Postgres, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub.
• Experience with event-driven architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing.
• Hiring software engineers and leading teams.
• SaaS development experience.
• Open API development.
• Solid enterprise integration architecture knowledge.
• Kafka, Kubernetes, Grafana, Prometheus familiarity.
• Experience in building scalable architectures.
• Incidents management and monitoring of distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee front-end and back-end development teams and their projects.
• Monitor reliability and performance of internal systems and suggest improvements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Manages software development projects by defining requirements, goals, and timelines.
• Design strategies for future development projects aligned with company objectives.
• Hire engineers and coordinate their training.
• Implement innovative technologies and integrations with stakeholders.
• Lead 5-10 person squad and ensure delivery.
• Hands-on coding when required.
