Job summary

Amartha is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead both strategic and technical directions for the engineering function in Jakarta. The role involves setting goals, hiring engineers, prioritizing projects, and hands-on product development to deliver scalable features from scratch.

The team comprises 100+ engineers who work with Product to create innovative solutions that drive Amartha’s growth, with a focus on data-intensive SaaS platforms and reliable systems.

Qualifications

• Experience leading 5-10 person squads
• Solid engineer hiring experience
• Experience in SaaS development
• Experience in open API development
• Experience with data-intensive applications
• Solid enterprise integration architecture knowledge
• GCP/Cloud infrastructure experience
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing
• Familiar with event-driven architecture
• Fintech/banking sector experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee front-end and back-end development teams and their projects
• Monitor reliability and performance of internal systems to suggest improvements
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations
• Manage software development projects by setting requirements, goals, and timelines
• Design strategies for future development projects based on the company’s overall objectives and resources
• Hire engineers and coordinate their training
• Implement innovative technologies
• Coordinate with stakeholders for new integrations and tools
