Job summary

PT Glovis Indonesia International is seeking a seasoned logistics leader to develop container usage plans, optimize capacity, and reduce idle costs. You will supervise the operations team and coordinate cross‑functionally with warehouse, customer service, and planning to ensure smooth shipments.

Responsibilities include monitoring daily trucking operations, ensuring on-time delivery, managing documentation, and reporting to management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in trucking operations, container planning, or logistics management.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional team management.
• In-depth knowledge of trucking regulations, container logistics, and supply chain processes.
• Proficiency in route planning, fleet management systems, and tracking tools.
• Strong analytical skills for cost control and efficiency optimization.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Job description

Develop container usage plans aligned with shipment requirements, optimize capacity utilization, and minimize costs from idle or empty returns.

Shipment monitoring: Oversee daily export and import trucking operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

Documentation control: Ensure all recording and reporting of shipment data, including export/import logs and customer invoices filing neatly.

Cost & Efficiency Control: Control trucking and container operational costs, analyze route efficiency, and recommend improvements to reduce expenses.

Vendor KPI management: Monitor vendor performance against agreed KPIs, provide feedback, and elevate issues when necessary.

Reporting: Consolidate daily operational reports and monthly summaries for management review.

Problem resolution: Handle operational issues, coordinate with vendors/customers, and implement corrective actions.

Team Supervision : Lead and guide the operations team, provide work instructions, evaluate performance, and foster cross‑department collaboration (warehouse, customer service, and planning).

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience in trucking operations, container planning, or logistics management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Strong leadership and problem‑solving skills, ability to manage cross‑functional teams, and proven track record in operational efficiency improvement.

In‑depth knowledge of trucking regulations, container logistics, and supply chain processes.

Proficiency in route planning, fleet management systems, and tracking tools.

Strong analytical skills for cost control and efficiency optimization.

Excellent communication skills in English (and local language if required).

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel & PowerPoint)
