Job summary

PT Andalas Bahtera Baruna is seeking a qualified Technical Superintendent to maintain vessel operability and oversee PMS-driven maintenance programs. You will monitor wear, suggest preventive measures, and ensure compliance with survey requirements during on-board visits.

Applicants should hold Maritime Studies credentials, have sailing experience at engineer levels, and be fluent in English. The role requires strong analytical skills and proactive problem-solving in a dynamic maritime

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Maritime Studies with ATT 1/2 certification.
• Sailing experience as Engineer/Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer in MV/General Cargo/Container, minimum 2 contracts.
• Proficient in Ship Management, ISM/ISPS Codes, and international conventions.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive for continuous improvement.
• Fluent in English is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vessels are in operation by implementing Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
• Monitor wear and tear, identify causes, and advise preventive actions.
• Conduct surveys on board and track statutory survey requirements.
• Provide technical solutions to vessel problems and carry out periodic condition surveys.
• Plan and supervise monthly spare parts usage and vessel improvements.

Job description

Ensuring vessels in operational condition by providing a thorough treatment from technical aspect by implement PMS (Planned Maintenance System)

Monitoring and establishing reason for excessive/unusual wear and tear and develop prevention through consultation with technical manager

Monitoring survey cycle, statutory survey requirement and carrying out direct survey on board

Provide solutions to the problems that occurred on the vessels from the technical side, carry out periodic surveys on the condition of the vessels and controlling demand for goods needed by the vessels

Planning and supervising monthly spare parts use and stocks, and vessel improvement in compliance with applicable requirements

QUALIFICATION

Candidate must possess at least Bachelor Degree/Master Degree in Maritime Studies - ATT 1/2 (Ahli Teknika Tingkat-1/2)Certified

Must be have Sailing experience as Engineer / Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineerin MV/General Cargo/Containerat least 2contract
