Job summary

PT Vale Indonesia Tbk seeks a procurement professional to support strategic sourcing of bulk materials and mining equipment, aligning with company strategy and procurement procedures.

You will develop long-term category strategies, manage supplier relationships, and prepare bid analyses to drive cost efficiency and service levels. A bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years in bulk material/mining equipment is required, with strong MS Office and analytics skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in interaction with bulk material and/or mining equipment.
• Strong Market Knowledge on Bulk Material (HSD, MFO, Coal, Sulphur, Refractory) and/or Mining Equipment.
• Proficiency in Procurement Process, Contract Management, Supplier Relationship Management and technical report writing.
• Computer literate with MS Office applications; proficiency in analytics tools like Power BI and SQL would be an advantage.
• Experience or knowledge in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Management System (SMK3L) is preferred.

Job description

To assist strategic sourcing of bulk material and/or mining equipment to improve total cost of ownership and service level to customer within the compliance of procurement procedures. Develop long term category strategy, periodic review and adjustment to mitigate risk. Responsible for strategic new initiative, establish communication between users and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

To assist strategic sourcing of strategic commodities to improve total cost of ownership and service level to customers within the compliance of procurement procedures

To develop new initiatives and/or technologies align with future company strategy and be the key enabler

To develop long term category strategy, periodic review and adjustment to mitigate risk

To assist in processing purchase/contract requisitions in accordance with departmental standards. Assist sponsor to establish contract strategy and tender plan. Ensure that appropriate documentation is prepared and reviewed by all impacted people.

To assist in preparing bid analysis and evaluation matrix and make recommendations for approval following the authority matrix.

Attending regular users’ meeting and acts as procurement representative in providing services and collect users’ feedback for continuous improvement of procurement services.

Assure smooth procurement cycle and avoid late process, late payment and late delivery, MDR by managing his/her PO on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. The quality of process is measured through the KPI of material discrepancy report (MDR) and Mismatch invoices.

Assuring the procurement process and procedures are fulfilled or his/her procurement process and activities. Promote the compliance of procurement process through the education and awareness program, communications and presentation to users and suppliers.

Promote the compliance of PT. Vale Indonesia business conduct to supplier and users through his/her communication and interaction and day to day basis.

Ensure that EHS requirements in contracts are properly researched and approved and are appropriate to PTVI requirements. Strive to ensure that EHS requirements are fully recognized by contractors and establish direct communication with EHS department in the event of any discrepancy or lack of adherence, by any party that has not been immediately responded to by the contract sponsor or contract manager.

Ensure that EHS requirements in contracts are properly reviewed, approved and appropriate to PTVI requirements. Strive to ensure that EHS requirements are fully recognized by contractors and establish direct communication with EHS department in the event of any discrepancy or lack of responded to by the contract sponsor or contract manager.

Requirements:

Minimum Bachelor (S1) degree in Engineering.

Minimum 5 years of experience in interaction with bulk material and/or mining equipment.

Strong Market Knowledge on Bulk Material (HSD, MFO, Coal, Sulphur, Refractory) and/or Mining

Equipment, Procurement Process, Contract Management, Supplier Relationship Management & Technical report writing.

Computer literate, experienced in MS Office Application (Word, Excel, Power Point). High proficiency in Desktop application, not limited to Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Suite, and Analytic tools such as Power BI, SQL, etc.

Preferably have experience or knowledge in the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Management System (SMK3L).

The Company mines laterite nickel ore and processes it into the final product of nickel in matte.

The Company also continues its plan to developing integrated mining practices through the Indonesia Growth Project (IGP) in Morowali, Central Sulawesi and in Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi.
