Job summary

McDermott International, Ltd is seeking a Principal Payroll Administrator to manage end-to-end payroll processes and ensure accuracy across tax, GL and treasury interfaces. You will communicate complex payroll information clearly to teams and drive process improvements in a fast-paced energy environment.

The role requires a finance or accounting degree, 5+ years in payroll, and strong Excel/Office skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in payroll.
• Able to perform gross to net calculations, reconcile taxes, and resolve GL/Treasury issues.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to meet multiple deadlines and work independently or as a team.
• Maintain payroll processing documentation and comply with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Execute end to end payroll activities.
• Reconcile payroll taxes and assist in SOX documentation.
• Back up payroll supervisor and prepare special payroll reports.
• Maintain and file payroll documents electronically.
• Test new system functionalities and assist with system testing.
• Communicate with teams to ensure accuracy of processes.
• Research and resolve issues regarding posting, funding, and taxes.
• Suggest and implement payroll process improvements.
• Process new hires and payroll groups, including off-cycle payrolls.
