Job summary

PaxOcean in Batam is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical engineering activities, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and HSE requirements. You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate maintenance, inspection, testing, and commissioning, and review designs and documentation.

You will collaborate with project teams, inspectors, and contractors to ensure quality and safe execution of mechanical works.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or Engineering Management is an advantage.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Strong CAD and simulation tool proficiency (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS).
• Solid understanding of HVAC, piping, rotating equipment, and structural mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and team members.
• Ensure all mechanical works comply with international codes, standards, and class specifications.
• Plan and perform preventive and corrective maintenance for mechanical systems.
• Participate in site inspections, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Ensure daily mechanical operations meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
• Coordinate procurement of materials, tools, and spare parts for mechanical works.
• Review and approve mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Lead and execute mechanical engineering tasks aligned with project objectives.
• Collaborate with classification societies, inspectors, and technical teams for compliance.
• Enforce Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and technical records.
• Supervise inspection and certification of mechanical installations.
