Job summary

MatchaTalent is seeking an experienced R&D Formulation Manager – Personal Care for a Tangerang-based cosmetics manufacturer. You will lead formulation research from concept to production-ready products with a focus on scratch formulations and genuine innovation.

You will build and guide the local R&D formulation team in Indonesia, establish development protocols, oversee lab trials and stability testing, and manage scale-up to mass production while ensuring BPOM and international safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
• 7–10 years hands-on formulation experience in cosmetics/personal care.
• Proven track record developing new formulations from scratch.
• Portfolio of successful formulation innovation across skincare/haircare/body care.
• Experience leading an R&D formulation team at managerial level.
• Fluent Mandarin Chinese, written and spoken.
• Willingness to relocate to Indonesia if required.

Responsibilities

• Lead formulation research and product innovation from concept to production-ready formulas.
• Identify new product opportunities via raw materials, actives, and emerging technologies.
• Design and oversee laboratory trials, formulation optimization, and validation.
• Oversee stability testing and ensure quality standards.
• Lead technical scale-up from lab to mass production.
• Develop formulations for skincare, haircare, and body care; support fragrance and body mist as needed.
• Maintain documentation, test records and regulatory compliance.
