Job summary

MatchaTalent is seeking an R&D Formulation Manager – Personal Care in Tangerang, Indonesia. The role leads formulation research, ingredient innovation, and product development across skincare, haircare, and body care, reporting to the Innovation Director and Owner.

You will build and lead the local R&D team, establish development processes, oversee trials and stability testing, and manage scale-up from pilot to mass production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cosmetology, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7–10 years hands-on formulation experience in cosmetic or personal care manufacturing.
• Track record of developing new formulations from scratch, not just optimizing existing formulas.

Responsibilities

• Lead formulation research and product innovation from concept to production-ready formulas.
• Identify new product opportunities from raw materials, actives, and trends.
• Oversee laboratory trials, formula optimization, compatibility testing, and validation.
• Manage stability testing and ensure quality standards are met.
• Lead scale-up from lab/pilot to mass production with formula consistency.
