We are looking for an experienced Senior HR Generalist / HRGA Manager to independently manage and strengthen HR operations in Indonesia.
This role will oversee the full employee lifecycle, HR compliance, employee relations, payroll coordination, recruitment, performance management, and general affairs. Beyond daily HR operations, this position is expected to identify HR risks, improve existing processes, establish policies and SOPs, and provide practical HR recommendations to management.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, structured, trustworthy, and comfortable working independently in a dynamic and growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, probation, employment contracts, contract renewal, employee movement, and offboarding.
- Ensure HR practices, employment contracts, policies, and procedures comply with Indonesian labor laws and applicable regulations.
- Handle employee relations matters, grievances, disciplinary cases, and workplace issues objectively and professionally.
- Advise management on HR-related matters, employee issues, compliance risks, and appropriate courses of action.
- Manage and improve performance management processes, including probation reviews, regular employee check-ins, performance evaluations, and follow-up actions.
- Lead recruitment activities and coordinate with hiring managers to fulfill manpower requirements.
- Develop, review, and maintain HR policies, SOPs, templates, documentation, and internal HR controls.
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in existing HR processes and implement practical improvements or digital solutions.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee data and ensure proper HR documentation and audit trails.
- Plan and coordinate employee engagement, internal communication, and team activities.
- Oversee General Affairs, including office facilities, assets, vendors, supplies, and other operational requirements.
- Prepare HR reports and provide relevant workforce insights to management.
- Support other organizational and people-related initiatives as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Law, Business Administration, Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience preferably with strong exposure to HR Generalist, HR Operations, or HRGA functions.
- Prior experience independently managing multiple HR functions or acting as the main HR PIC is highly preferred.
- Strong practical knowledge of Indonesian labor law, PKWT/PKWTT, compensation, termination procedures, BPJS, payroll, and HR compliance.
- Hands-on experience handling employee relations and sensitive HR cases.
- Strong problem-solving and judgment skills, with the ability to balance employee concerns, legal compliance, and business needs.
- Able to communicate HR risks and recommendations confidently and objectively to management.
- Strong ownership, attention to detail, confidentiality, and follow-through.
- Comfortable building and improving processes rather than only following existing procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and comfortable working with HR data and reports.
- Able to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and operate effectively in a fast-changing environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
