Actual Expectations of the Role

The Head of Construction is responsible for taking ownership of construction delivery across Atta Studio's active projects.

This is a senior, hands-on role. We are looking for someone who can lead teams and contractors, maintain control of multiple sites, anticipate problems before they affect the project and ensure what is designed is what ultimately gets built.

You will be expected to:

• Take ownership of construction projects from pre-construction through final handover.
• Manage multiple active sites, ensuring each project remains on schedule and progresses according to agreed milestones.
• Lead site managers, engineers, supervisors, foremen, subcontractors and external contractors.
• Review architectural, interior, structural and MEP drawings before execution and identify constructability issues, missing information or potential clashes.
• Coordinate closely with Atta's architecture and design teams to ensure the design intent is maintained throughout construction.
• Establish clear construction sequencing, master schedules and short-term site schedules.
• Maintain a high standard of construction quality, detailing and finishing across every project.
• Establish and enforce proper QA/QC processes, inspections, mockups, material approvals and snagging procedures.
• Identify delays, quality issues, procurement problems and cost risks early and take action before they become larger problems.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure materials and long-lead items arrive according to the construction schedule.
• Review contractor quotations, variations and additional work requests together with the commercial team before approval.
• Hold contractors and internal teams accountable for deadlines, quality and agreed deliverables.
• Ensure site teams are always working from the latest approved drawings and prevent unauthorized changes on site.
• Run structured construction and site coordination meetings with clear actions, owners and deadlines.
• Provide clear weekly reporting across every active project covering progress, schedule, quality, procurement, cost risks, outstanding decisions and next steps.
• Build stronger construction systems and standards that can be implemented consistently across all Atta projects.

Most importantly, we expect this person to operate proactively. Problems should be anticipated rather than simply reported after they happen. When an issue needs to be escalated, it should come with a clear understanding of the problem, its impact and recommended solutions.

The success of this role should ultimately mean that Atta can run more projects simultaneously while improving construction quality, predictability and control.
