Job summary

Atta Studio, a Bali-based design and build firm, is seeking a Senior Architect to take ownership of projects from concept through execution. You will lead the architectural process, coordinating with interiors, structure, MEP and construction teams to deliver well-detailed, buildable designs.

The role demands strong architectural judgment, hands-on site involvement, and the ability to drive projects forward while maintaining Atta Studio's design standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional architectural experience.
• Significant experience leading architectural projects independently.
• Strong portfolio of residential, hospitality or commercial projects.
• Advanced understanding of architectural detailing and construction documentation.
• Experience coordinating structural, MEP, interior and other consultants.
• Professional proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant architectural/design software.

• Lead architectural projects from concept development through construction and handover.
• Develop strong architectural concepts and translate them into buildable designs.
• Produce and oversee complete architectural drawing packages with technical accuracy and detail.
• Review drawings produced by junior architects and ensure they meet Atta's design and documentation standards.

• Attend site regularly to ensure construction aligns with drawings and design direction.

We are looking for a Senior Architect who can take ownership of projects from early concept development through detailed design, construction documentation and site execution.

This is not a role focused only on producing drawings. We are looking for someone with strong architectural judgment who understands how buildings are actually constructed and can lead the architectural process while coordinating effectively with interiors, structure, MEP and construction teams.

Actual Expectations of the Role

You will be expected to:

• Lead architectural projects from concept development through construction and handover.
• Develop strong architectural concepts and translate them into resolved, buildable designs.
• Produce and oversee complete architectural drawing packages with a high level of technical accuracy and detail.
• Review drawings produced by junior architects and ensure they meet Atta's design and documentation standards.
• Lead and mentor architects and architectural drafters working across assigned projects.
• Coordinate architectural design with interior, structural, MEP, landscape and other consultants.
• Identify design clashes, missing information and technical problems before drawings reach construction.
• Understand materials, construction methods, waterproofing, detailing, tolerances and finishing requirements.
• Work directly with the construction team to resolve site conditions without unnecessarily compromising the original design intent.
• Attend site regularly and ensure construction is consistent with approved drawings and design direction.
• Review shop drawings, material submissions, samples and mockups.
• Respond quickly and clearly to RFIs and construction queries.
• Maintain control of drawing revisions and ensure construction teams are always working from current information.
• Manage architectural deadlines and ensure drawings are issued according to the construction schedule.
• Present designs and technical solutions clearly to directors, clients, consultants and construction teams.
• Take responsibility for architectural problems rather than waiting for others to identify or resolve them.

The expectation is that a Senior Architect at Atta can be given ownership of a project and trusted to drive it forward.

We want someone who understands that good architecture does not stop at the render. The quality of the role is ultimately measured by how successfully the original idea becomes a well-resolved, well-detailed and well-built space.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional architectural experience.
• Significant experience leading architectural projects independently.
• Strong portfolio of completed residential, hospitality or commercial projects.
• Strong architectural design ability combined with technical construction knowledge.
• Advanced understanding of architectural detailing and construction documentation.
• Experience coordinating structural, MEP, interior and other consultants.
• Strong knowledge of materials, finishes and construction methods.
• Experience reviewing construction on site and resolving architectural issues during execution.
• Professional proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant architectural/design software.
• 3D modeling and visualization literacy sufficient to review and develop design accurately.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in Indonesia or knowledge of Indonesian construction practices is highly valued.
• Based in Bali or willing to relocate to Bali full-time.
