Job summary

JDH Design and Build, based in Mengwi, Bali, seeks an experienced Architect for a full-time role designing innovative residential, commercial, and mixed-use spaces in a culturally mindful context.

You will work with design and construction teams to translate concepts into buildable plans, ensuring sustainability, quality, and adherence to local codes while embracing Bali's unique style and heritage.

Qualifications

• A degree in Architecture or equivalent professional qualification.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in architectural design and project delivery.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Knowledge of local building codes and Balinese design principles.
• Excellent conceptual and detailed design skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience in sustainable design is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual designs and detailed architectural drawings for residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
• Conduct site analysis and feasibility studies to inform design decisions and project planning.
• Prepare architectural specifications, construction documents, and BIM documentation.
• Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, vision, and constraints.
• Work with structural engineers, MEP consultants, and other specialists to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Manage the design development process from concept through to construction administration.

About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Architect to join our growing team at JDH Design and Build in Mengwi, Bali. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work on diverse architectural projects in one of the world's most inspiring locations. As an Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing innovative spaces that meet our clients' needs whilst maintaining our commitment to quality, sustainability, and cultural sensitivity. You will work collaboratively with our design and construction teams to transform concepts into reality, contributing to our portfolio of distinctive projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop conceptual designs and detailed architectural drawings for residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects
• Conduct site analysis and feasibility studies to inform design decisions and project planning
• Prepare architectural specifications, construction documents, and building information modelling (BIM) documentation
• Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, vision, and constraints
• Work with structural engineers, MEP consultants, and other specialists to ensure integrated design solutions
• Manage the design development process from concept through to construction administration
• Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and zoning requirements in Bali
• Coordinate with contractors and construction teams to support quality implementation on-site

What we're looking for

• A degree in Architecture or equivalent professional qualification recognised by the appropriate architectural body
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in architectural design and project delivery
• Proficiency in architectural design software including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong knowledge of building codes, planning regulations, and construction practices, with familiarity with Indonesian and Balinese building standards being advantageous
• Excellent conceptual and detailed design skills with a keen eye for aesthetics and functionality
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly to clients and team members
• Experience in sustainable design, green building practices, or LEED certification is preferred
• Knowledge of local Balinese architectural styles and cultural context is highly desirable
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
• Problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a dynamic project environment
