Job summary

PT Utopia Kuliner Indonesia seeks an experienced Retail Expansion Manager to drive growth across multiple sites in West Jakarta. You will identify expansion opportunities, oversee new location development, and ensure operational excellence while building high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead cross-functional efforts with marketing, finance, and supply chain, manage landlord relations and budgets, and deliver strategic reports to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in retail expansion or multi-site management.
• Proven track record of opening and scaling locations.
• Strong ops understanding: inventory, staffing, visual merch.
• Excellent project management with multiple priorities.
• Financial acumen: budget, P&L, ROI calculations.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management.
• Proficient data analysis and retail software familiarity.
• Leadership experience across multi-site teams.
• Jakarta market knowledge is highly desired.
• Excellent English and Indonesian communication.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Retail Expansion Manager to join our team in West Jakartafull-time position that plays a crucial strategic role in driving the growth and profitability of our retail operations across multiple sites. You will be responsible for identifying and capitalising on expansion opportunities, overseeing the development of new locations, and ensuring operational excellence across our growing portfolio. Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and develop new retail expansion opportunities across designated regions, conducting market analysis and feasibility studies to ensure strategic growth.


• Oversee the planning, design, and launch of new retail locations, managing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder coordination.


• Manage relationships with landlords, property developers, and local authorities to secure prime retail locations and negotiate favourable terms.


• Monitor and analyse performance metrics across multiple sites, implementing strategies to optimise sales, profitability, and operational efficiency.


• Develop and execute retail operational standards, ensuring consistency in customer experience, service quality, and brand representation across all locations.


• Lead, mentor, and manage multi-site teams, providing performance feedback, training, and development opportunities.


• Collaborate with marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless integration of new locations into the broader business operations.


• Prepare comprehensive expansion reports and business cases, presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership.


• Implement cost control measures and identify efficiencies to maximise profitability whilst maintaining service standards.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in retail expansion, multi-site management, or similar roles within the retail and consumer products sector.


• Proven track record of successfully opening and scaling new retail locations.


• Strong understanding of retail operations, including inventory management, staffing, visual merchandising, and customer service standards.


• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines simultaneously.


• Demonstrated financial acumen, including budget management, P&L analysis, and return on investment calculations.


• Strong negotiation and relationship-building capabilities with external stakeholders.


• Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with retail management systems and software.


• Leadership experience with proven ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.


• Knowledge of the Jakarta and broader Indonesian retail market is highly desirable.


• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Indonesian.


• Flexibility and willingness to travel between multiple sites as required.
