Job summary

IOM - UN Migration invites applications for an internship with the Refugee Care Unit in Makassar, Indonesia. The intern will assist in day-to-day programme activities, coordinate with education and protection teams, and help maintain records and data related to mental health and psychosocial support.

Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required. The internship offers exposure to UN humanitarian operations, supervision by senior staff, and a local stipend depending on funding and location.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in final year of a first university degree in Psychology, Social Welfare, Social Work, Education, or related field; or enrolled in a second degree; or graduated within one year.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day Refugee Care unit activities in Makassar.
• Co-facilitate general/non-clinical counselling sessions under supervision.
• Assist in data collection and documentation for training sessions and meetings.
• Support data related to mental health and psychosocial support.
• Assist in protection-related awareness sessions and meetings.
• Support ticket distribution and response management within the Complaints and Feedback Mechanism.
