Job summary

PT Pacific Medan Industri seeks a Research & Development Manager to organize activities, review customer requirements and coordinate trials in line with Design & Development.

You will lead R&D projects, manage budgets and supervise staff while ensuring compliance with food safety standards and SAP-based processes. Fluent English is preferred; based at the Medan plant with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Food Science & Technology.
• At least 2 years of working experience in a related field.
• Understanding of research and product formulation management, application testing, and customer-specific requirements.
• Able to manage the R&D department's human resource budget, utilize SAP systems, and implement food safety management system standards.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Fluent in English both spoken and written.

Founded in 1997, the PT Pacific Medan Industri is a fully modernized company engaged in manufacturing of palm oil based on value-added products such as ghee and margarine. The plant has an independent unit for the production of tin can, plastic packing, and PIT cans along with multi-color printed lines on them. Plans are well-underway to meet increasing demands on products.

The plant has earned the distinction of being the largest exporter of vegetable ghee from Indonesia. The plant supplies its fully processed products to multinational companies as well.

The plant strategic location near the port and close to necessary raw material resources is certainly an advantage from an economic point-of-view. Undoubtedly it gives the plant the opportunity to offer competitive high quality products to customers.The plant houses a well-equipped R&D facility operated by highly qualified personnel.
