PT. Rena Haniem Mulia is recruiting for an R&D Coating position in Indonesia. You will develop and test coating formulations for industrial, decorative, or specialty applications, focusing on performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability.

You will conduct adhesion, durability, gloss, and chemical resistance tests, ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and collaborate with the sales team and customers to provide technical data and product recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• Hands-on lab skills: formulation, mixing, and testing.
• Familiarity with coating raw materials (resins, pigments, solvents, additives).
• Analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in cross functional teams.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with internship experience in coatings are welcome.

The R&D Coating position is responsible for developing, testing, and improving coating formulations to meet customer requirements and industry standards. This role focuses on innovation, product performance, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations, while supporting the company's growth in the specialty chemical sector.

Position responsibilities

Formulation Development

• Design and develop new coating products (industrial, decorative, or specialty)
• Optimize existing formulations for performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Conduct laboratory tests on adhesion, durability, gloss, hardness, and chemical resistance
• Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external regulations
• Explore new raw materials, additives, and technologies for coating applications
• Collaborate with suppliers and industry partners to evaluate innovative solutions

Technical Support

• Provide technical data and product recommendations to the sales team and customers
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and product specifications

Regulatory & Safety Compliance

• Ensure formulations meet environmental, health, and safety standards
• Maintain accurate records of experiments and safety procedures

Role Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering

Strong interest in coatings technology and product development

Hands on laboratory skills: formulation, mixing, and testing
