Job summary

Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting for an experienced R&D Manager for a growing consumer brand in Jakarta to lead product development and innovation. You will manage end-to-end R&D, oversee formulation, testing, and commercialization, and ensure product quality and regulatory alignment.

You will collaborate with QA/QC, Regulatory, Production, Procurement, Marketing, and external suppliers to drive successful launches and ongoing product improvement across categories.

Our client, a growing Consumer brand, is seeking an R&D Manager to lead its product development and innovation initiatives. This role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end R&D process, developing and improving product formulations, conducting research on new ingredients and technologies, and ensuring product quality and consistency. The position will work closely across functions to support successful product development, testing, commercialization, and continuous product improvement.

Job Description

• Lead the end-to-end R&D process, covering product ideation, formulation development, laboratory trials, testing, validation, and commercialization.
• Develop, formulate, and improve products by evaluating ingredients, formulation techniques, product functionality, sensory attributes, stability, and overall product quality.
• Conduct research on new ingredients, technologies, formulations, and market trends to identify opportunities for new product development and product innovation.
• Work closely with QA/QC, Regulatory, Production, Procurement, Marketing, and external suppliers to ensure smooth product development and successful commercialization.
• Oversee product trials, testing, documentation, and product improvement initiatives, while ensuring that products meet established quality standards, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant R&D experience, with a strong track record in product development, formulation, testing, and commercialization.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of formulation development, ingredient selection, laboratory testing, product trials, stability testing, and troubleshooting of formulation-related issues.
• Good understanding of product quality, safety, regulatory requirements, and relevant industry standards, with the ability to translate these requirements into practical R&D processes.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, combined with a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple product development projects from concept through launch.
