Job summary

PT Trust Recruit Indonesia is seeking an experienced Purchasing Specialist for steel procurement in Tangerang. You will manage steel product purchases, build supplier relationships, and coordinate with logistics to ensure on-time deliveries.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Management or Economics and 3+ years in steel or construction materials procurement, with strong negotiation, analytics, and teamwork skills.

Job description

Industry: Steel trading and distribution company specializing in the import and supply of steel products and related materials for the construction, steel fabrication, and hardware sectors.

Responsibilities

Manage procurement of steel products, including plates, rebar, wire rods, hollow/welded/seamless pipes, I-beams, channels, and angle bars.

Develop and maintain relationships with steel mills, traders, and suppliers.

Handle RFQs, price comparison, negotiation, cost control, and purchasing efficiency.

Plan purchases based on sales orders, inventory levels, and market conditions.

Negotiate and manage purchase contracts and procurement documentation.

Coordinate with suppliers, logistics, and warehouse teams on delivery, receiving, and inspection.

Monitor steel prices, market trends, and industry developments to support purchasing decisions.

Maintain accurate supplier, contract, and purchasing records.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Management, Economy, and other related fields.

3 years+ of experience in purchasing / procurement in Steel Industry or Construction Material is a MUST.

Strong business communication, negotiation, coordination, and teamwork skills.

Good market analysis and cost control capabilities with the ability to work independently.

Responsible, trustworthy, disciplined, and committed to maintaining procurement integrity and compliance.

Able to work under pressure and effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other office applications, with strong data processing and analytical skills.
