Our client from a global textile manufacturing is looking for a Purchasing Assistant Manager who will lead purchasing operations to secure efficient procurement, competitive pricing, optimal quality, favourable payment terms, and uninterrupted production. The role oversees the purchasing team, supplier performance, import processes, and compliance with company policies, safety standards, and environmental regulations.

Key responsibilities

Oversee purchasing operations, systems, and procedures to ensure efficient procurement, competitive pricing, optimal quality, and favorable payment terms.

Lead and supervise the purchasing team to ensure effective procurement operations and achievement of departmental targets.

Coordinate with internal departments, suppliers, and management to ensure timely material availability and uninterrupted production.

Monitor and evaluate supplier performance in terms of price, quality, quantity, and delivery lead time, including managing import processes and documentation.

Identify cost-saving opportunities, control purchasing expenses, and ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and environmental regulations.

What we're looking for

Minimum Bachelor's degree (S1) in any discipline.

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar purchasing position, with proven team leadership experience.

Has experience/knowledge in EXIM and bonded zone operations.

Hands-on experience in import & local purchasing

Experience handling complex materials with multiple components and diverse specifications.

Mandatory hands-on experience using SAP or other ERP systems for purchasing operations.

Good knowledge of product specifications, supply chain management, and business processes.

Professional English proficiency, negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
