Job summary

PT Peoplyee Tech Indonesia seeks a Purchasing Assistant Manager in Batam to lead the Purchasing Department, develop strategic procurement plans, and ensure timely material availability. You will manage supplier sourcing, negotiations, budgeting, and compliance, while coaching the team and driving cost-saving initiatives across manufacturing operations.

English business proficiency required; Mandarin preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management.
• Business-level English; Mandarin preferred.
• 7–10 years in purchasing/procurement in manufacturing.
• At least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Experience with ERP, MRP, and SAP systems.
• Experience in inventory management, data analysis, and MS Office.

We are assisting one of our clients, who is looking for a Purchasing Assistant Manager (Batam)

Industry : Manufacturing(Electronics/Semiconductors)

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Purchasing Department to ensure efficient and effective procurement operations.

Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with business objectives.

Manage supplier sourcing, evaluation, selection, and negotiations to achieve optimal quality, pricing, and delivery terms.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and business partners.

Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, and other relevant departments to ensure timely material availability and appropriate inventory levels.

Manage the purchasing budget, control procurement costs, and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

Analyse procurement performance, prepare management reports, and identify process improvement opportunities.

Lead, coach, and develop the purchasing team to achieve departmental targets and improve performance.

Monitor supplier performance, resolve procurement issues, and implement alternative supplier strategies to mitigate supply risks and maintain business continuity.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management.

Language: Business-level English proficiency. Mandarin proficiency is preferred.

Experience: 7–10 years of purchasing or procurement experience in manufacturing, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.

Experience using enterprise resource planning, material requirements planning, and SAP systems.

Experience in inventory management, data analysis, and Microsoft Office applications.

Experience managing supplier key performance indicators, supply risks, and alternative suppliers.
