Job summary

Asia Pulp and Paper seeks a Manager in Pulp Manufacturing/Production Operations to lead the pulp dryer department, ensuring safe, efficient operations and on-target production.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Pulp & Paper or Engineering and hands-on experience with pulp dryer installation, commissioning, and testing, plus knowledge of ISO 9001/14001 and OHSAS frameworks. On-site role with strong leadership expected.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in pulp dryer projects and production operations.
• Familiar with installation sequence, commissioning, testing, start-up.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 & 14001 and OHSAS 18001-2007 programs.
• Ability to lead a production team and ensure safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the team during start up and shut down.
• Direct troubleshooting across pulp dryer plant areas.
• Supervise routine field checks on machinery and equipment.
• Act per procedures for parameter abnormalities affecting production/quality.
• Drive continuous improvement to achieve production targets.
• Update SOPs and work instructions as required.
• Report hourly parameters and shift production; maintain operation logs.
• Maintain environmental protection and safety standards.

Job description

To ensure the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of all area / section in pulp dryer department (DCS, Baling line area, cutter and dryer area, wet end area, tank area and auxiliary). Ensure that product meets the quality, specification and parameter while maintaining required production target.

Key responsibilities

Responsible, lead and direct the team during start up and shut down

Responsible, lead and direct the team in trouble shooting in process plant in all area

Supervise, coordinate, lead and direct the team member to conduct routine field check on all machines and equipment in their respective areas / plant

Do necessary action according to procedure for all machines and process parameter abnormalities that may affect to production, quantity and quality

Continue improvement for achieve production

Follow, review and updating of SOP and WI as required

Report parameters condition machine per hours, and production per shift

Write summary of report and maintaining record of operation

Responsible, lead and direct subordinates to protect the environment by preventing pulp spillage, overflow pulp, water, etc.

Responsible, lead and direct subordinates in maintaining the required level of safety standards for all respective areas / section in pulp dryer department

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Pulp & Paper, Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent

At least 5 year(s) of hands on experience in pulp dryer project installation, erection works from similar industry

Familiar with Pulp Dryers installation sequence, commisioning, testing, start-up until final production stage

Manager Lead specializing in Pulp Manufacturing/Production Operations or equivalent

Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques

Knowledge of raw materials & knowledge of quality systems and standards

Responsible on ISO 9001 & 14001 and OHSAS 18001-2007 program, development and implementation
