Job summary

Perfetti Van Melle is seeking an R&D professional to lead and scale NPD projects from concept to production and define process parameters for converting raw materials into finished products. You will coordinate with related departments and ensure regulatory compliance for new materials used locally and for export.

You will conduct industrial-scale trials, develop SOPs, and drive continuous improvement on processing lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, preferably Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Research and Development within the FMCG industry.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and data analysis. Additional skills with Minitab and Power BI are a plus.
• Proficient in project management and able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Able to work under pressure and meet targeted deadlines.
• Great interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good understanding of food manufacturing technologies.
• Good understanding of food ingredients and their functionalities.

Job description

Reporting to PPD Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage NPD projects, including scaling up product development from recipe to commercial production, defining process parameters for converting raw materials into finished products, and overseeing project completion through coordination with related departments.
2. Conduct industrial-scale trials, including process parameter testing, and prepare comprehensive industrial trial reports.
3. Set up and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for use in the processing lines.
4. Assess new raw material documentations to ensure their regulatory compliance for use in local and/or exported products.
5. Lead and manage continuous process improvements projects to identify issues in the processing lines and ensure closure of the findings.
6. Identify opportunities to improve process, material, and recipe efficiency.

Requirements:
