Job description

Research & Development GM (Food Manufacturing)

GM RnD is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the overall R&D and QA/QC functions at food manufacturing company operating automated plants with production capacity of approximately 300 tons/day. The role involves strategic direction, team leadership, and ensuring products meet quality, food safety, and regulatory standards while driving innovation and commercialization.

Key responsibilities

Lead and oversee the overall R&D and QA/QC functions

Directly manage and provide leadership to the R&D Manager and QA/QC Manager

Set the overall R&D and Quality strategy in line with business objectives

Oversee new product development, product improvement, and reformulation

Ensure products meet required quality, food safety, regulatory, and customer standards

Lead the development and improvement of product formulations and processes

Ensure successful transition of products from R&D to mass production in collaboration with Manufacturing/Technical teams

Drive product quality, consistency, cost optimization, and scalability

Establish and improve R&D, QA, and QC processes and standards

Provide strategic recommendations to the Owner and Director of Operations regarding product development, quality, and technical matters

About you

Minimum 15 years of experience in Food Manufacturing/FMCG

Strong experience in R&D / Product Development

Strong exposure to Wet Food Products, such as sauces, mayonnaise, condiments, dressings, or similar products

Proven experience managing both R&D and QA/QC functions

Experience leading and developing R&D and QA/QC Managers

Strong knowledge of formulation, product development, reformulation, product improvement, and commercialization

Experience bringing products from R&D stage to mass production

Strong understanding of food quality, food safety, and regulatory requirements

Strong experience in cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Technical, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams

Strong leadership and strategic decision-making capability
