Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of materials, components and manufacturing processes for automotive or machinery.
• Experience with supplier quality management and vendor evaluation.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in English and Indonesian, written and spoken.
• Experience with procurement software and MS Office.
• Knowledge of cost management and inventory control.

About the role

PT Tsubaki Indonesia Manufacturing is seeking a Procurement Engineer Staff to join our dynamic team in Karawang, West Java. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in optimizing our supply chain operations and ensuring the seamless procurement of materials and components essential to our manufacturing excellence. As a Procurement Engineer Staff, you will bridge the gap between engineering requirements and procurement strategy, driving efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality across our procurement operations.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse engineering specifications and translate them into detailed procurement requirements and supplier sourcing strategies
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships, evaluating supplier performance against quality, delivery and cost metrics
• Conduct market research and feasibility studies to identify optimal sourcing solutions and new suppliers
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to understand material requirements and lead time needs
• Prepare and manage requests for quotations (RFQs), negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing
• Monitor supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to ensure business continuity
• Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation and data systems for audit and reporting purposes
• Support cost reduction initiatives through value analysis and process improvements
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities
• Liaise with quality assurance teams to verify that procured materials meet specified standards and requirements

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials or related discipline), Supply Chain Management or Business Administration
• 3-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management or materials engineering within a manufacturing environment
• Strong technical knowledge of materials, components and manufacturing processes relevant to the automotive or machinery industry
• Proficiency in supplier quality management and vendor evaluation methodologies
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain productive supplier relationships
• Proficiency in English and Indonesian (both written and verbal)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Experience with procurement software systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of supply chain cost management and inventory control practices
• Preferred: Experience in procurement planning, demand forecasting or ERP systems implementation
• Preferred: Familiarity with international trade documentation and customs procedures
