Job summary

PT Utami Jaya Mulia (UJM) - NPS Group is seeking a driven Procurement Engineer to support coal mining operations and act as a cross-border coordinator between Thai and Indonesian teams. The role involves sourcing, negotiations, and end-to-end procurement processes for heavy machinery, parts, and services.

The candidate will coordinate with Thai and Indonesian departments to ensure compliance with local laws and company policies while maintaining timely delivery and cost-effective sourcing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mining or related).
• 1–3 years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Engineering, Maintenance, or related functions.
• Experience in mining, heavy equipment, industrial operations, or manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate local Indonesian vendors, negotiate terms, and manage end-to-end procurement from PR to PO.
• Collaborate with Mining Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to review specs and requirements.
• Handle procurement for heavy machinery, spare parts, fuel and services; prepare bid comparisons and approvals.
• Monitor procurement status, coordinate logistics and warehousing, and track warranties.
• Act as liaison between Thailand-based teams and UJM's site in Indonesia, ensuring alignment in Thai and Bahasa Indonesia.
• Ensure compliance with Thailand HQ purchasing policies, governance, and Indonesian mining laws.

PT Utami Jaya Mulia (UJM) - NPS Group is looking for a driven Procurement Engineer to join our team in supporting our coal mining operations!

This role is vital in ensuring cost-effective sourcing and acting as a key cross-border coordinator between our Thai and Indonesian teams.

• Thai Candidate: Based in Prachinburi, Thailand (Thai nationality with good communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia; willingness to travel to Indonesia when required).
• Indonesian Candidate: Based at UJM Mining Site, Muara Teweh, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia (Indonesian nationality with good communication skills in Thai).

Perform the procurement activity & process for goods, equipment, spare parts, and services required for UJM's coal mining operations by ensuring cost-effective sourcing, technical compliance, timely delivery, and adherence to company procurement policies.

The position also serves as a key coordinator between Thai and Indonesian teams, suppliers, and operational departments to ensure effective procurement execution and continuity of mining operations.

• Project Procurement & Sourcing: Source and evaluate local Indonesian vendors, negotiate commercial terms, and manage end-to-end procurement processes from PR to PO.
• Planning & Technical Coordination: Collaborate with Mining Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to review specifications and purchasing requirements.
• Execution & Negotiation: Handle procurement for heavy machinery, spare parts, fuel, and operational services, preparing bid comparisons and management approvals.
• Delivery & Management: Monitor procurement status, coordinate logistics and warehousing, and track warranties.
• Cross-Border Liaison: Act as a communication bridge between Thailand-based teams and UJM's site in Indonesia, facilitating alignment in Thai and Bahasa Indonesia.
• Compliance: Ensure alignment with Thailand HQ purchasing policies, corporate governance, and Indonesian mining laws.

Job Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mining, or related Engineering disciplines.

Experience:

• 1–3 years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Engineering, Maintenance, or related technical functions.
• Experience in mining, heavy equipment, industrial operations, or manufacturing is an advantage.
• (Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge and required language proficiency may be considered).

Technical & Professional Skills:

• Basic understanding of procurement procedures, supplier sourcing, quotation analysis, and purchasing documentation.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications for machinery, equipment, spare parts, and engineering materials.
• Good analytical, negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel); ERP/purchasing system familiarity is a plus.
