The Purchasing Supervisor will oversee end-to-end procurement activities supporting site development, operational readiness, and exploration projects. This role will be responsible for sourcing materials, equipment, and services while establishing procurement processes and developing local supplier networks to support future operational growth.
Our client is a growing organization within the mining and energy sector, supporting large-scale site development and operational activities in Indonesia. They are seeking a hands-on Purchasing Supervisor to establish and lead procurement activities during a critical project development phase.
Description
- Manage daily purchasing and procurement activities for site operations.
- Source and procure infrastructure materials, operational supplies, and safety equipment (PPE).
- Develop and maintain relationships with local and regional suppliers.
- Conduct supplier evaluation, negotiation, and vendor management activities.
- Support procurement of heavy equipment, spare parts, and maintenance-related materials.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet project schedules.
- Monitor procurement costs and support budget control initiatives.
- Create and implement procurement procedures, processes, and documentation.
- Coordinate closely with site operations, maintenance, warehouse, and project teams.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and governance requirements.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and procurement reporting.
Profile
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- At least 3 years' experience as a Procurement/Purchasing Supervisor within the gold mining industry.
- Strong experience in operational procurement within remote or site-based environments.
- Experience sourcing infrastructure materials, equipment, and site operational requirements.
- Proven track record in supplier sourcing and vendor development, including local suppliers.
- Familiarity with procurement of heavy equipment, spare parts, and industrial consumables.
- Strong negotiation, cost management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working on a roster-based site assignment.
- Able to work independently and establish procurement processes in a growing operation.
