Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Mandarin Translator based in Kecamatan Pulau Sebuku. The Mandarin Translator will interpret spoken Mandarin to Indonesian or English (and vice versa) during meetings, site visits, and daily operational interactions. The role includes translating documents, emails, technical materials, and internal communications while ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency in terminology. The translator will support communication between Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and local teams, help prepare bilingual reports and presentations, and assist in resolving language-related misunderstandings. The position may also involve coordinating with different departments, maintaining translation records, and providing cultural and linguistic context to facilitate effective collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Mandarin and Indonesian, with the ability to translate and interpret accurately in both directions. (Min. HSK 4)
• Proven experience in written translation and oral interpretation, preferably in industrial, mining, or technical environments.
• Ability to understand and convey technical terms and operational procedures clearly, with attention to detail and consistency.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work on-site with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders.
• High level of reliability, confidentiality, and professionalism, with strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Comfort working in a remote industrial area and willingness to comply with site safety and operational regulations.
• Relevant educational background in languages, translation, or related fields is preferred; certification in Mandarin language or translation is an advantage.
