Job summary

Artisan Group in Bali is seeking a Learning and Development Manager for hospitality to design and deliver the group-wide training programme across service, kitchen and bar. Based at the Ungasan office, you will regularly travel to Papi Sapi Bali and Lombok.

You will build rolling training plans, run sessions for managers and frontline teams, and track progress to close gaps in standards and knowledge.

Qualifications

• Hands-on hospitality experience in service, kitchen or bar.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage.
• Proven ability as a trainer, not just an operator.
• Understanding of how adults learn and adapt teaching styles.

Responsibilities

• Build rolling training plans two weeks to one month ahead, shaped by operational needs.
• Deliver sessions across all departments and all venues.
• Use SOP-based sessions, scenario work, quizzes, games, practical tests, tastings and short floor briefings.
• Lead manager and supervisor level training in boardroom environments.
• Cover topics such as sequence of service, hospitality standards, wine service and knowledge, food knowledge, guest scenarios and problem solving.
• Track who has been trained on what, and follow up on gaps.
• Work with venue managers and heads of department to identify where standards are slipping.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Learning and Development Manager - Hospitality.

Full time, based at our Ungasan office, with regular travel to all group venues.

You will design and deliver the training programme for the entire group, covering service, kitchen and bar. Around 70% of the role sits with service teams, where building product knowledge and confidence is our biggest priority.

Venues you will cover:

• Papi Sapi - Bali
• Papi Sapi - Lombok

What you will do:

• Build rolling training plans two weeks to one month ahead, shaped by current operational needs
• Deliver sessions across all departments and all venues
• Use the right format for the subject, including SOP based sessions, scenario work, quizzes, games, practical tests, food and beverage tastings, and short floor briefings.
• Lead manager and supervisor level traning in boardroom environement.
• Cover topics such as, but not exclusive to: sequence of service, fundamental hospitality standards, wine service and wine knowledge, food knowledge, guest scenarios and problem solving, communication and language practice, memory and recall, company SOPs, hand hygiene, safe food storage and fire safety.
• Track who has been trained on what, and follow up on gaps
• Work with venue managers and heads of department to identify where standards are slipping

QUALIFICATIONS

• Hands on hospitality experience in service, kitchen or bar. This is not a desk role and floor credibility is non negotiable
• Strong food and beverage knowledge
• Proven ability as a trainer, not just an operator. You need to be genuinely good in front of a room
• Working understanding of how adults learn, and the confidence to switch between teaching styles depending on the group and the subject
