About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Bar Manager to join our team at Grun Resorts in Badung, Bali. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our bar. As Assistant Bar Manager, you will support the Bar Manager in delivering exceptional service and maintaining operational excellence. You will be responsible for supervising bar staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and creating an inviting atmosphere that keeps our guests returning. This role is integral to maintaining the high standards Stilt Studios is known for and directly contributes to the success of our hospitality operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and train bar staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service and adherence to company standards
• Manage bar operations during assigned shifts, including stock management, cash handling, and reconciliation
• Prepare and serve beverages with accuracy and flair, whilst maintaining knowledge of our full drinks menu
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering stock as needed to prevent shortages
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Ensure all staff comply with responsible service of alcohol guidelines and local regulations
• Address guest concerns and complaints professionally, taking corrective action where necessary
• Assist with promotional activities and special events to maximise bar revenue
• Support the Bar Manager in implementing policies, procedures, and new initiatives
• Maintain detailed records of sales, stock, and staff performance

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in a bar or hospitality environment, with at least 2-3 years in a similar role or progression within bar operations
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and other beverages, including ability to prepare drinks to professional standards
• Excellent supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities with a customer-focused approach
• Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills
• Sound understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards in hospitality environments
• Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices and local regulations
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Fluency in English is A Must; additional languages are desirable
• Relevant hospitality qualifications or certifications (such as RSA or bartending qualifications) are advantageous
• Willing to be located in Uluwatu, Bali
