Job summary

Soechi Group, one of Indonesia's largest tanker owners, seeks a senior cost estimator for vessel newbuilding projects. You will manage cost estimation from tender enquiry through contract award and handover to the project team, ensuring reliable pricing for tender decisions.

You will review specifications and equipment lists, estimate quantities and man-hours, lead cost estimates, and coordinate with Commercial, Engineering, Production, Procurement, Planning, and Finance.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Shipbuilding Engineering, or related engineering field.
• Minimum total 10 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding, shipyard, vessel construction, or project cost estimation.
• Preferably 3 years in a position of Assistant manager or Managerial position.
• Strong experience in vessel newbuilding cost estimation, including tender preparation until project award.
• Good understanding of shipbuilding processes from engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation through testing, commissioning, and vessel delivery.
• Able to review vessel specifications, drawings, material quantities, equipment lists, production man-hours, and supplier quotations.
• Strong understanding of project cost, schedule, construction method, and profitability.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, good communication skills, and proficiency in English.
• To be stationed in Tj. Balai Karimun, Riau Island

Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing cost estimation for vessel newbuilding projects, from tender enquiry until contract award and handover to the project team.
• Provide reliable cost information to support Management in tender pricing, negotiation, project selection, and profitability decisions.
• Review vessel specifications, drawings, equipment lists, class requirements, delivery schedule, and other tender documents.
• Review and estimate quantities of steel, piping, cable, paint, insulation, outfitting materials, consumables, and other construction materials.
• Lead preparation and review of newbuilding cost estimates.
• Request technical and cost information from relevant departments.
• Coach team members in vessel construction, costing, quantity estimation, man-hour estimation, and quotation analysis.
• Maintain coordination with Commercial, Engineering, Production, Procurement, Planning, and Finance team.
