McEasy, a transportation management solution to simplify complex logistics operations. is looking for a IoT Data Lead to join our ever-growing team.
If you are a keen learner, self-driven, and looking to be a part of a team that is passionate with helping each other, we want to hear from you.
What will you do?
As IoT Data Lead, you will own the correctness of device data end to end, from the moment it enters McEasy's platform to the moment a customer sees it. You will work across the IoT, data platform and SaaS teams without managing them directly, and hold the decision authority on how device data is defined, processed and changed.
- Be the final decision-maker on how device data is defined, interpreted and stored (units, sources, fields, logic)
- Own the data contract and keep it complete, consistent and agreed by the IoT, data platform and SaaS teams
- Resolve conflicts between technical documents and product requirements
- Answer open cross-team questions within an agreed timeframe, and bring clear recommendations when leadership input is needed
- Keep a decision log with each decision, its reason and who it affects
- Review and approve processing logic changes, schema changes and new device integrations before release
- Check downstream dependencies (features, reports, fields) before approving any data change
- Maintain a single register of processing rules and settings, including what each does, who sets it and who depends on it
- Create and maintain a standard onboarding checklist for new devices (fields, timezones, units, buffering, test cases)
- Make sure new devices are verified on our own platform, and feed post-release issues back into the checklist
- Take ownership of escalated issues where the root cause is unclear or moves between teams
- Make sure customer issues are closed on fixes that actually shipped
- Work closely with engineers, Product Owners and QA, and explain technical decisions clearly to non-technical teams
Qualification:
- Experienced in IoT, telematics, data engineering or backend engineering
- Hands-on understanding of the full device data path: device protocols (e.g. GPS, OBD/CAN), data ingestion, data processing, and how applications consume the data
- Proven track record of making technical decisions that other teams adopt, without formal authority over them
- Ability to write clear requirements, specifications and acceptance criteria that engineers can build and test against
- Comfortable saying 'no' or 'not yet' to changes that aren't ready, and explaining why
- Ability to structure ambiguous cross-team problems and decide who needs to be involved, and in what order
- Strong written communication in English [and Bahasa Indonesia]
- Experience with data contracts, schema governance or multi-vendor device integration is a plus
- Background in mechatronics, electronics or electrical engineering is a plus
Additional Notes:
- This is not a people management role. The IoT, data platform and SaaS teams keep their own leads, hiring and performance reviews.
- You decide and verify, while the teams build. This role is not expected to build all processing logic yourself.
- You define acceptance criteria and sign off on changes, but independent testing stays with the QA team.
- This role does not cover UI, firmware development or hardware design.
- You are expected to scale your decisions through clear rules and checklists, so routine approvals don't depend on you.
