PT. Polygroup Manufaktur Indonesia seeks an Industrial Engineering Assistant Manager to join our Kendal Regency facility in Central Java.

This full-time role supports the Industrial Engineering Manager in optimizing production processes and driving continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. You will lead lean initiatives, assist in plant layouts, monitor safety and quality, and collaborate with maintenance, quality, and production teams to sustain world-class manufacturing

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing operations
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement
• Proficiency with engineering analysis tools and software (AutoCAD, ERP systems, production planning tools)
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• English proficiency; Mandarin a plus
• Experience in polymer or plastics manufacturing preferred
• ISO quality management system certification a plus

• Train and mentor production staff on new processes and best practices
• Support evaluation and implementation of new manufacturing technologies and equipment
• Assist budgeting, cost analysis and resource allocation for engineering projects

About the role

We are seeking an Industrial Engineering Assistant Manager to join our manufacturing operations team in Kendal Regency, Central Java. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial strategic role in optimising production processes, enhancing operational efficiency and driving continuous improvement initiatives across our facility. As Assistant Manager, you will support the Industrial Engineering Manager in implementing systems and methodologies that increase productivity, reduce costs and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. This role is essential to our commitment to operational excellence and contributes directly to the company's competitive advantage in the manufacturing sector.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of industrial engineering standards, processes and procedures to optimize manufacturing operations


• Conduct time and motion studies to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements


• Analyse production data and manufacturing workflows to establish performance benchmarks and KPIs


• Collaborate with production teams to implement lean manufacturing principles and eliminate waste


• Assist in the design and optimization of plant layouts and production line configurations


• Monitor workplace safety compliance and support the development of safety improvement program


• Prepare detailed reports on production efficiency, equipment performance and cost reduction opportunities


• Coordinate with maintenance and quality teams to ensure continuous equipment performance and product quality


• Train and mentor production staff on new processes, methodologies and operational best practices


• Support the evaluation and implementation of new manufacturing technologies and equipment


• Assist in budgeting, cost analysis and resource allocation for engineering projects

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline


• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing operations or process improvement within a manufacturing environment


• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement principles


• Proficiency in using engineering analysis tools and software, including Auto CAD, ERP systems and production planning tools


• Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling and supply chain optimization


• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and translate findings into actionable improvement recommendations


• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization


• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards


• Proficiency in English is essential, and understanding Mandarin will be an advantage.


• Preference given to candidates with experience in polymer or plastics manufacturing


• Preference for candidates with certifications in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma or ISO quality management systems
