This role involves managing daily operations and workflows across outpatient departments (ER, clinics, rehab) and inpatient wards (ICU, general wards, surgical units). You will coordinate patient transitions, manage bed availability, optimize scheduling, and serve as the primary point of escalation for operational bottlenecks and scheduling conflicts. The position encompasses staff management, financial and resource oversight, and quality assurance across both sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Synchronize workflows between outpatient departments and inpatient wards to ensure smooth patient transitions and admissions
- Monitor bed availability, manage inpatient discharge timelines, and optimize outpatient scheduling to minimize patient wait times
- Act as the primary point of escalation for daily operational bottlenecks, patient grievances, or scheduling conflicts
- Oversee staffing schedules, ensuring appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios and administrative coverage in all zones
- Conduct performance evaluations, mentor team leads, and implement continuous education programs for clinical and non-clinical staff
- Foster a collaborative, high-morale working environment to reduce staff burnout and turnover
- Develop, monitor, and manage annual operational budgets for both sectors, controlling labor costs and overhead expenditures
- Ensure optimal inventory levels for medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment, preventing shortages while minimizing waste
- Collaborate with billing and coding departments to ensure accurate documentation and maximize reimbursement rates from insurance providers
- Ensure operations strictly adhere to local health regulations, hospital policies, and accreditation standards
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field
- 3+ years of healthcare management experience, ideally with exposure to both clinic (ambulatory) and hospital (inpatient) environments
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (e.g., SIMETRIS)
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and crisis-management abilities
- Analytical mindset for budget management and data-driven decision-making
