Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in import/export operations or customs clearance.
• Fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken).
• Solid knowledge of export/import procedures and customs regulations.
• Experience with import/export systems and relevant software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process export and import documentation (bills of lading, certificates of origin, commercial invoices, customs declarations).
• Coordinate with customs brokers, shipping agents, and logistics providers for timely clearance.
• Monitor shipment status and track goods through import/export processes.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, tariff classifications, and trade requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of all export and import transactions and archives.
• Communicate with internal departments and external stakeholders about shipments.
• Calculate and verify freight charges, duties, taxes, and other costs.
• Assist in resolving customs issues or delays in the process.
• Support preparation of reports related to import/export activities and trade compliance.

About the role

PT Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park is seeking an Export Import Staff to join our growing Import/Export and Customs team. This is a full-time position based in Jakarta Selatan, Jakarta Raya. As Export Import Staff, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth movement of goods across international borders whilst maintaining full compliance with customs regulations and import/export requirements. This position is essential to our operations, directly supporting the efficient flow of goods through our industrial park and contributing to the timely delivery of products to our clients. You will be instrumental in managing documentation, coordinating with customs authorities, and ensuring that all shipments meet regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process export and import documentation, including bills of lading, certificates of origin, commercial invoices, and customs declarations


• Coordinate with customs brokers, shipping agents, and logistics providers to ensure timely clearance of goods


• Monitor shipment status and track goods through various stages of the import/export process


• Ensure compliance with all relevant customs regulations, tariff classifications, and international trade requirements


• Maintain accurate records of all export and import transactions and maintain documentation archives


• Communicate with internal departments and external stakeholders regarding shipment details, delays, or issues


• Calculate and verify freight charges, duties, taxes, and other applicable costs


• Assist in resolving customs issues, discrepancies, or delays that may arise during the import/export process


• Support the preparation of reports related to import/export activities and trade compliance

What we're looking for

• A minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience in import/export operations, customs clearance, or a related logistics field


• Fluency in Mandarin, both written and verbal


• Strong knowledge of export/import procedures, customs regulations, and international trade documentation requirements, particularly for Indonesian and regional trade


• Proficiency in using import/export management systems and relevant software applications


• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple shipments and documentation simultaneously


• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customs authorities, shipping agents, and internal teams


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems


• Knowledge of HS codes, tariff classifications, and duty calculations


• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining compliance standards


• Preferably, experience working within an industrial park or free trade zone environment
