Job summary

CTCI is a Taiwan-based global EPC contractor delivering hydrocarbon processing, power, and industrial projects. This Electrical Engineering role collaborates with the Electrical Lead Engineer to align scope, review specs, and ensure design compliance across power, grounding, lighting, and control systems for large-scale projects.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of FEED/EPC electrical design, with proficiency in ETAP, Dialux Evo, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical system design for FEED or EPC projects.
• Experience in bidding activities is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, including circuit design and electronic systems.
• Familiar with IEC standards and local regulations.
• Proficient in ETAP, Dialux Evo, AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Good understanding of construction methods and practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in English for technical reporting; Mandarin is an advantage.
• Willing to be assigned to site; overseas site commissioning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Electrical Lead Engineer to align design scope and objectives.
• Review project requirements, specs, and codes; participate in design reviews and QA.
• Support planning and execution by engaging in meetings and QA activities.
• Design and site-commission electrical power, grounding, lighting, and low-energy systems for large projects.
• Develop electrical distribution concepts, SLDs, and schematics.
• Prepare equipment specifications and data sheets (GIS, transformers, switchgear, SCADA, generators, UPS).
• Review vendor documents for electrical equipment.
• Develop and review drawings, calculations, specs, and schedules.
• Perform power system analyses using ETAP (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, harmonics).
• Collaborate with process, mechanical, piping, I&C teams for integrated design.
• Contribute to bidding inputs and support execution to meet timelines and budgets.
• Provide procurement, construction, and commissioning support.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, site visits, and resolving on-site queries.
• Identify technical risks and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Contribute to work instructions, design guidelines, and VE initiatives.

Job description

1. Collaborate with the Electrical Lead Engineer to align the design scope and objectives.

2. Review project requirements, technical specifications, and applicable codes and standards, and participate in design reviews and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance.

3. Support project planning and execution by engaging in relevant meetings, performing necessary quality assurance and design verification activities.

4. Design, planning, and site commissioning of electrical power systems, power and grounding systems, lighting systems, low energy systems and technical bid evaluation for electrical equipment for large-scale engineering projects.

5. Development of electrical power distribution concept, SLD, and schematic diagram.

6. Preparation of specifications and data sheets for electrical equipment (e.g. GIS, Power Transformer, MV/LV Switchgear/MCC, Power SCADA system, Emergency Generator, AC UPS/DC Charger, VFD etc.)

7. Review vendor document for above-mentioned electrical equipment.

8. Develop and review electrical engineering documents, including drawings, specifications, calculations, design documents, and schedules.

9. Conduct power system analyses using ETAP software, including load flow studies, short circuit calculations, arc flash assessments, and harmonic analysis.

10. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including process, mechanical, piping, instrumentation and control, to achieve fully integrated system design and execution.

11. Contribute to the preparation of technical input during bidding activities and support execution to meet defined timelines and cost targets.

12. Provide technical input and support throughout procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

13. Assist in testing and commissioning activities, including site visits and surveys, and provide technical support during construction by addressing site queries and reviewing on-site conditions.

14. Proactively identify technical issues and risks and take both corrective and preventive actions to resolve and mitigate them.

15. Contribute to continuous improvement within the discipline and organization, including development of work instructions, design guidelines, and value engineering initiatives.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical system design for FEED or EPC Project.

3. Experience in bidding activities is an advantage.

4. Good understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, including circuit design and electronic systems.

5. Familiar with IEC standards and industry practices, including relevant local regulations.

6. Proficient in relevant electrical engineering tools (e.g., ETAP, Dialux Evo, AutoCAD, or other power study simulation software).

7. Good understanding of construction methods and practices.

8. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

9. Strong interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.

10. Professional working proficiency (both written and spoken) in English is required for technical reporting and group-level coordination. Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage

11. Possess a Certificate of Competence with an Associate Expert qualification in Electrical Engineering is preferred.

12. Willing to be assigned to the site if project is required.

13. Requires experience in overseas site commissioning across various countries.
