PT CTCI International Indonesia is seeking an experienced HVAC Design Engineer to lead the design of HVAC systems for commercial and industrial facilities. The role requires collaboration with the Lead Engineer, reviews of standards, specifications, and calculations, and delivery of comprehensive design packages for procurement and construction.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years in engineering consultancy, EPC, or HVAC vendor segments, with strong skills in P&ID, AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, and Revit,
Collaborate with the HVAC Lead Engineer to align project objectives, design scope, priorities, and engineering deliverables.
Review project requirements, technical specifications, applicable codes and standards, HVAC calculations, drawings, and engineering quantities, and participate in design reviews and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with project and client requirements.
Support project planning and execution by participating in project meetings, monitoring assigned design activities, performing design verification, and ensuring timely completion of engineering deliverables.
Design HVAC systems for commercial buildings and industrial projects, including ducting systems, chilled water systems, cooling water systems, associated electrical power supply, and control systems.
Develop and review HVAC engineering deliverables, including Design Basis, Specifications, Datasheets, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Ducting Instrumentation Diagrams (D&ID), Airflow Diagrams, engineering calculations, HVAC layouts, ducting drawings, equipment schedules, and other design documents required for project execution.
Perform heating and cooling load analyses, pressure drop calculations, duct sizing, equipment sizing, and psychrometric analysis using Carrier HAP and other applicable engineering tools.
Perform HVAC equipment selection and technical evaluation for major equipment, including Air Handling Units (AHU), Fan Coil Units (FCU), chillers, cooling towers, pumps, fans, and other HVAC equipment.
Prepare technical requisitions, Material Take-Off (MTO), engineering quantity take-offs, bid evaluations, and provide technical support during procurement and subcontracting activities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including Process, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control, Civil, and Structural disciplines, to achieve fully integrated engineering solutions and resolve interface issues.
Contribute to the preparation of technical input during bidding activities and support execution to meet defined timelines and cost targets.
Prepare technical responses to client comments and review sheets and coordinate the resolution of engineering review comments.
Provide technical support throughout procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases, including vendor coordination, technical clarification, and site engineering support.
Assist in site surveys, testing, commissioning, and construction activities by reviewing site conditions, responding to technical queries, and supporting issue resolution.
Proactively identify technical issues and risks and take both corrective and preventive actions to resolve and mitigate them.
Contribute to continuous improvement within the discipline and organization, including development of work instructions, design guidelines, and value engineering initiatives.
Provide technical guidance and coordinate assigned designers or junior engineers to ensure the quality and timely completion of engineering deliverables.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or HVAC engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering consultant, EPC contractor, or HVAC Vendor.
Experience in bidding, procurement support, and project execution is an advantage.
Experience in FEED is an advantage.
Experience in industrial facilities, power plants, petrochemical, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or high-tech facility projects is an advantage.
Good understanding of HVAC engineering principles, design methodologies, and industry best practices.
Ability to perform HVAC cooling and heating load calculations, pressure drop calculations, duct sizing, equipment sizing and selection, and psychrometric analysis.
Ability to prepare and review Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Airflow Diagrams, Ducting Instrumentation Diagrams (D&ID), HVAC layouts, and other engineering drawings.
Knowledge of chilled water and cooling water systems, including pipe sizing, pipe selection, hydraulic calculations, and installation practices.
Familiar with ASHRAE standards and industry practices, including relevant local regulations.
Good understanding of construction methods, commissioning activities, and multidisciplinary engineering coordination.
Proficient in Carrier HAP design software.
Proficient in AutoCAD.
Experience with Autodesk Revit is an advantage.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
Professional working proficiency (both written and spoken) in English is required for technical reporting and group-level coordination. Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
Willing to be assigned to the site if project is required.
