Job summary

PT CTCI International Indonesia is seeking a Civil & Structural Engineer with 5+ years in oil & gas or industrial projects to join our Jakarta team. You will collaborate with the Lead Engineer to align scope, review specs, and ensure code compliance across design reviews and QA processes.

The role involves developing deliverables, preparing specs, and coordinating with vendors and site teams. Strong EPC experience and English proficiency are required; Mandarin is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of related oil and gas or industrial plant project experience.
• Knowledge of structural analysis for supports, loads and design integrity.
• Familiarity with EPC processes: FEED through construction.
• Experience in civil and structural design for roads, drainage, foundations, and racks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Civil & Structure Lead Engineer to align design scope and objectives.
• Review project requirements, specs, and codes; participate in design reviews and QA processes.
• Support planning and execution by attending meetings and performing QA and design verification.
• Develop civil and structural design deliverables (Engineering Drawing Index/List).
• Prepare technical specifications and design requirements for civil structures.
• Prepare and review calculations, models, drawings, and other documents.
• Coordinate and supervise multi-disciplinary teams, vendors, and subcontractors to meet milestones.
• Coach and supervise design engineers.
• Identify technical issues and risks; implement corrective and preventive actions.

Job description

Collaborate with the Civil & Structure Lead Engineer to align the design scope and objectives.

Review project requirements, technical specifications, and applicable codes and standards, and participate in design reviews and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance.

Support project planning and execution by engaging in relevant meetings, performing necessary quality assurance and design verification activities.

Assist in developing civil and structural design deliverables (Engineering Drawing Index/List).

Prepare technical specifications and general civil structures design requirements.

Prepare and review the calculation sheets, models, design drawing, and other design documents.

Analyze configurations of the basic components of a structure.

Review and manage the bill of quantities for materials.

Ensure all the design results follow construction safety guidelines.

Ensure all designs compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Obtain planning and/or building regulations approval.

Coordinate and supervise multi-disciplinary teams, vendors, and subcontractors to deliver project milestones successfully.

Supervise and coach design engineers.

Contribute to the preparation of technical input during bidding activities and support execution to meet defined timelines and cost targets.

Proactively identify technical issues and risks and take both corrective and preventive actions to resolve and mitigate them.

Support continuous improvement of the department and the Company (development of document templates, guidelines, clarification of interfaces etc.)

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.

Minimum of 5 years of related experience in oil and gas industry or industrial plant project.

Technically knowledgeable of the practical application of structural engineering including analysis for structural supports, loads, and design integrity.

Strong knowledge of EPC process execution (FEED, basic engineering design, detailed engineering design, procurement, construction)

With experiences in general civil engineering and structural design, such as road & paving, storm water drainage system, static & dynamic equipment foundations, building and shelter structures, piperack structures, equipment supporting structures, R.C storage tank & basin.

Good knowledge of construction methods, materials, and local legal regulations.

Software Skills: (1) EXCEL; (2) PowerPoint; (3) WORD; (4) Auto CAD; (5) REVIT; (6) SAP 2000 or STAAD Pro; Foundation Mat 3D & F3D.

Familiarity with design codes and standards such as SNI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.

Professional working proficiency (both written and spoken) in English is required for technical reporting and group-level coordination. Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.

Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.

Having good interpersonal skills, professional manner, consistency, and detail oriented.

Possess a Certificate of Competence with qualification Associate Expert in Building Engineering is preferred.

Willing to be assigned to the site if project is required.

Additional Requirements:

Own the ability to review design specifications and check calculation.

Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction.

Take charge of control design schedule/progress within the responsible scope of work.

To be responsible for the checker position of a completed EPC project (medium to large scale)

Project, Management, or Site Experience is required.
