Job summary

Mercure Jakarta Gatot Subroto is seeking an Executive Housekeeper to lead the hotel’s housekeeping department, ensuring guest rooms and public areas meet the highest cleanliness and presentation standards.

You will recruit, train, and supervise staff, prepare schedules and daily plans, monitor performance, and coordinate with Front Office, Engineering, F&B, and Security to deliver outstanding guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of housekeeping experience in a supervisory or managerial position in a hotel.
• Experience in a full-service, upscale, luxury, or international hotel environment is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of hotel housekeeping operations, cleaning standards, linen management, inventory control, and hotel hygiene practices.
• Good leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or hotel property management systems.
• Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise daily housekeeping operations.
• Ensure guest rooms and public areas meet established cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Coordinate with Front Office regarding room status, arrivals, departures, VIP guests, room moves, and special requests.
• Establish and maintain effective cleaning procedures, checklists, and quality standards.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop housekeeping employees.
• Prepare staff schedules, assignments, and daily work plans according to occupancy and business needs.
• Monitor employee performance, attendance, grooming, and discipline.
• Maintain a positive, professional, and service-oriented working environment.
• Prepare housekeeping departmental reports, schedules, forecasts, and budgets.
• Interdepartmental coordination with Front Office, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Security, Human Resources.
