Job summary

PT OTA Indonesia (Otazen) is seeking a Drafter to join our Technical & Engineering team in Klaten, Central Java. You will translate design references into precise technical drawings for furniture production and interior fit-out on site, bridging design and execution.

The role requires AutoCAD proficiency, familiarity with SketchUp and 3D software, and the ability to read architectural drawings. You’ll collaborate across departments and visit project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires Diploma (D3) in Interior Design, Architecture, Product Design, or related field.
• Minimum 1–2 years of drafting experience, preferably in interior fit-out or furniture.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; familiar with SketchUp and other 3D software (SolidWorks, 3ds Max).
• Strong ability to read architectural, interior, and technical drawings.
• Good verbal and written English communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Willing to visit project sites and coordinate with multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Create engineering drawings, CNC input, workflows, and material breakdowns for furniture production.
• Prepare shop and detail drawings for interior fit-out works from architects' drawings.
• Verify field measurements through site surveys and adjust drawings to site conditions.
• Coordinate with site teams and other trades to resolve clashes and update drawings.
• Lead kickoff meetings to review drawings with QC, R&D, Production, and finishing teams.
• Produce as-built drawings after installation.
• Prepare daily engineering reports and participate in morning briefings.

Job description

PT OTA Indonesia (Otazen), a growing independent global-scale furniture manufacturing company, is looking for a Drafter to join our Technical & Engineering team. You will be the bridge between design and execution, turning design references from designers, architects, and project managers into precise technical drawings for both furniture production and interior fit-out installation on site.

Key responsibilities

Furniture & production

Create engineering drawings, CNC input, work process flow, and material breakdowns for furniture, following OTA construction standards and production machine capacity

Develop material breakdowns from approved drawings, aligned with work contracts and hardware, accessories, and appliance specifications

Prepare shop drawings and detail drawings for interior fit-out works (partitions, ceiling, flooring, wall panels, joinery, built-in furniture) from architect and interior designer drawings

Verify field measurements through site surveys, and adjust drawings to actual site conditions so they can be installed

Coordinate with the site team and other trades (MEP, civil) to resolve clashes and update drawings

Prepare as-built drawings after installation

Lead Kick Off Meetings (KOM) to review final drawings with QC, R&D, Production, Assembly, Veneer, and Finishing teams before execution

Support troubleshooting from design through production, assembly, and field installation

Help the Warehouse team check the completeness of non-standard hardware components

Take part in quality control at the initial assembly stage and during on-site installation

Prepare daily engineering reports and join morning briefings with the Head of Technical and TE Manager

About you

Diploma (D3) in Interior Design, Architecture, Product Design, or a related field

Minimum 1 - 2 year of experience as a drafter, preferably in interior fit-out or furniture

Proficient in AutoCAD; familiar with SketchUp and other 3D software (SolidWorks, 3ds Max, etc.)

Strong ability to read architectural, interior, and technical drawings

Knowledge of interior fit-out and furniture materials, hardware, and construction methods, or woodworking background

Good verbal and written communication skills, including in English

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Able to work well in a team and coordinate actively across departments, including with site teams

Willing to visit project sites when needed
