Job summary

TERA Data Centers seeks a Data Center Engineer to support operation, maintenance, and continuous availability of mission-critical infrastructure at its Indonesia campuses. You will monitor critical systems, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and support incident response to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient facility performance.

You will work closely with the Technical Service Manager, Facility Operation Manager, Field Engineer, and Chief Engineer to uphold world-class reliability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience operating or maintaining mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to work rotating shifts within a 24×7 operational environment.
  • Good understanding of industrial safety practices, LOTO, and PTW procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems to ensure maximum facility availability.
  • Conduct routine inspections, equipment rounds, and performance verification of all critical infrastructure.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities according to maintenance schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Monitor equipment alarms through BMS, EPMS, DCIM, and other monitoring platforms and respond promptly to abnormal operating conditions.
  • Perform first-line troubleshooting, fault isolation, and restoration activities for electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Execute switching operations in accordance with approved procedures, safety requirements, and permit-to-work processes.
  • Support commissioning, IST, and operational readiness activities for new infrastructure.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with contractors, OEMs, and vendors while ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, operational logs, equipment history, and work orders using CMMS.
  • Support incident investigations by collecting technical data and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures, engineering standards, EHS requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Participate in emergency response activities to restore critical infrastructure during operational incidents.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Center Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and continuous availability of mission-critical infrastructure within our hyperscale data center campuses in Indonesia. This role is ideal for an engineering professional who enjoys working in a hands-on operational environment and is passionate about maintaining highly available electrical and mechanical infrastructure. As a Data Center Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring critical systems, executing preventive and corrective maintenance, supporting incident response, and ensuring all facility equipment operates safely and efficiently. Working closely with the Technical Service Manager, Facility Operation Manager, Field Engineer and Chief Engineer, you will contribute directly to delivering world-class reliability and operational excellence across TERA’s next-generation hyperscale facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support commissioning, Integrated System Testing (IST), and operational readiness activities for new infrastructure.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with contractors, OEMs, and vendors while ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, operational logs, equipment history, and work orders using CMMS.
  • Support incident investigations by collecting technical data and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures, engineering standards, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Participate in emergency response activities to restore critical infrastructure during operational incidents.
Operational Responsibilities
  • Perform daily operational rounds and verify the health of critical facility equipment.
  • Monitor power, cooling, and environmental conditions to ensure systems operate within design parameters.
  • Conduct routine testing of UPS systems, generators, cooling equipment, fire protection systems, and auxiliary infrastructure.
  • Support planned maintenance activities while minimizing operational risk.
  • Verify completed maintenance work and ensure equipment is returned to normal operating conditions.
  • Assist in spare parts management, inventory control, and equipment lifecycle planning.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within engineering and technical areas.
  • Participate in technical training, emergency drills, and competency development programs.
  • Support energy efficiency initiatives and recommend opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience operating or maintaining mission-critical facilities, including: Data Centers, Power Plants, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Mining, Aviation, Hospitals, Telecommunications, Other Critical Infrastructure Facilities
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to work rotating shifts within a 24×7 operational environment.
  • Good understanding of industrial safety practices, Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), and Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures.

  • Experience operating hyperscale or enterprise data centers.
