TERA Data Centers seeks a Control Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) to support operation, monitoring, and optimization of mission-critical infrastructure across its Indonesian campuses. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and coordinate maintenance for high- and low-voltage systems, UPS, generators, chillers, and BMS/SCADA suites to ensure continuous availability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related engineering field.
  • 5+ years in mission-critical facilities (data centers, power plants, etc.).
  • Experience in 24×7 operations and BMS/SCADA monitoring.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, control, and support operation of mission-critical infrastructure via centralized monitoring systems.
  • Support safe operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and coordination of critical systems (HV/LV, UPS, generators, chillers, BMS, FDSS, EPMS, SCADA).
  • Monitor facility alarms, assess incidents, coordinate responses, and escalate events per procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineers and projects to support maintenance, testing, and readiness for new facilities.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Control Engineer (Mechanical / Electrical) to support the operation, monitoring, and optimization of mission-critical infrastructure within our hyperscale data center campuses in Indonesia. This role combines technical expertise with operational discipline to ensure the continuous availability, reliability, and performance of critical mechanical and electrical systems. The Control Engineer plays a key role in real-time monitoring, incident response, preventive maintenance coordination, and operational reporting while supporting world-class service availability expected by hyperscale customers.



Responsibilities


  • Reporting to the Facility Operation Manager, the Control Engineer is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and supporting the operation of mission-critical infrastructure through centralized monitoring systems and operational procedures.

  • The role is responsible for supporting the safe operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and coordination of critical systems, including: High- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems, UPS systems and battery infrastructure, Diesel generators and fuel systems, Chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers, and liquid cooling systems, Fire Detection and Suppression Systems (FDSS), Building Management System (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS), SCADA and other facility monitoring systems, Mechanical, electrical, and auxiliary facility equipment

  • The Control Engineer continuously monitors facility alarms, identifies abnormal operating conditions, performs first-level incident assessment, coordinates operational responses, and escalates critical events in accordance with established operating procedures.

  • The role also works closely with Facility Engineers, Operations, Commissioning, and Construction teams to support maintenance activities, equipment testing, system commissioning, and operational readiness for new facilities.



Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating or maintaining mission-critical facilities in one or more of the following industries: Data Centers, Power Plants, Oil & Gas, Semiconductor, Manufacturing, Hospitals, Aviation, Telecommunications, Mining, Other critical infrastructure environments

  • Experience working in a 24×7 operational environment.

  • Experience monitoring Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), SCADA, or similar industrial control systems.

  • Strong understanding of electrical or mechanical systems operation and maintenance.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to respond effectively during emergency situations and operational incidents.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Willing to work on rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

  • Fluency in English



Required Skills


  • Experience operating hyperscale or enterprise data centers.

  • Strong understanding of critical electrical infrastructure including transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, protection systems, and power distribution.

  • Strong understanding of critical mechanical infrastructure including chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps, and HVAC systems.

  • Familiarity with BMS, EPMS, SCADA, DCIM, and facility monitoring software.

  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and reliability engineering.

  • Experience supporting commissioning activities and integrated systems testing.

  • Knowledge of data center operational standards, safety practices, and engineering best practices.

  • Experience conducting incident response, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and corrective action implementation.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

  • Professional certifications related to electrical, mechanical, or industrial automation systems would be an advantage.
