Job summary

Urban Compost by Urban Biologist is seeking a Business Development & Sales Officer for compost. You will work independently to map the market, develop buyers, and generate repeat sales through direct buyers, farmer groups, retailers, and distributors.

Responsibilities include market research, prospecting clients, field visits, building relationships, preparing quotations, and coordinating orders with stock and delivery.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduates or candidates with 0-2 years of work experience.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to conduct field visits.
• Meticulous in managing databases and consistent in following up.
• Able to learn and execute field operational tasks.
• Knowledge of agriculture or compost is a plus.

• Conduct market research to map needs, pricing, competitors, demand volume, and packaging for farmer groups, gardens, nurseries, landscaping, hotels, and agricultural shops.
• Prospect for clients, conduct field visits, build relationships with decision-makers, and explain the product and its usage.
• Select sample recipients, arrange handovers, record feedback, and follow up on trial results to secure purchases.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate within approved limits, and secure both retail and bulk orders.
• Open sales channels with shops and distributors, discuss purchasing schemes and margins, and monitor product movement.
• Manage a database including contact details, volume requirements, sample status, transactions, and follow-up schedules.
• Assist in preparing business requirements and product licensing documents.
• Coordinate orders with stock and delivery, and report sales opportunities and results to the Director.

Job Summary: We are looking for a candidate for the Business Development & Sales Officer position who will work independently without subordinates, specifically handling compost market development and sales. This position will report directly to the Director. The main objective of this role is to develop prospective buyers and generate repeat sales through direct buyers, farmer groups, retail shops, and distributors.
