BIM Engineer - MEP

Job summary

SMEC in Jakarta seeks a skilled BIM Engineer to support development of intelligent 3D MEP models and project coordination on infrastructure and urban projects.

You will work with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks and BIM 360 to produce accurate shop drawings, ensure BEP/LOD compliance, and collaborate with architects, engineers and contractors on site.

Qualifications

• Experience creating 3D BIM models for MEP systems using Autodesk Revit or similar BIM software.
• Ability to perform multidisciplinary clash detection and coordinate resolutions.
• Experience producing precise 2D shop drawings and installation layouts.

Responsibilities

• Model Development: Create and maintain intelligent, data-rich 3D models of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) systems using Autodesk Revit or any BIM software.
• Coordination & Clash Detection: Perform multidisciplinary clash detection in Navisworks or BIM 360/ACC to identify and resolve spatial conflicts before construction, reducing field rework.
• Documentation: Generate precise 2D shop drawings and installation layouts/drawings derived directly from the BIM model.
• Standards Compliance: Ensure all models adhere to project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), LOD (Level of Development) requirements, and relevant engineering codes.
• Collaboration: Participate in regular coordination meetings with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers and contractors to align design goals and resolve technical conflicts
• Data Management: Manage model data, including parametric families, schedules, and quantity take-offs for accurate cost estimation and procurement.
• Coordination with Lead BIM Engineer in day-to-day operation and report to respective Regional Lead.
• This position can also be based at project site (if required)
• Secondary role will be as project engineer (if required).
