Job summary

SMEC (an SJ Group company) in Indonesia is seeking a BIM Engineer to develop intelligent 3D models of MEP systems using Autodesk Revit. You will coordinate with architects, structural and MEP engineers, perform clash detection in Navisworks, and generate precise 2D drawings from the BIM model.

You’ll ensure BEP and LOD compliance, manage model data for accurate cost estimation and procurement, and contribute to project delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience creating 3D BIM models for MEP systems in Autodesk Revit.
• Experience performing clash detection and coordinating with project teams.
• Ability to generate 2D shop drawings from BIM models and ensure BEP compliance.

Job Description

Model Development: Create and maintain intelligent, data-rich 3D models of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) systems using Autodesk Revit or any BIM software. Coordination & Clash Detection: Perform multidisciplinary clash detection in Navisworks or BIM 360/ACC to identify and resolve spatial conflicts before construction, reducing field rework. Documentation: Generate precise 2D shop drawings and installation layouts/drawings derived directly from the BIM model. Standards Compliance: Ensure all models adhere to project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), LOD (Level of Development) requirements, and relevant engineering codes. Collaboration: Participate in regular coordination meetings with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers and contractors to align design goals and resolve technical conflicts. Data Management: Manage model data, including parametric families, schedules, and quantity take-offs for accurate cost estimation and procurement. Coordination with Lead BIM Engineer in day-to-day operation and report to respective Regional Lead. This position can also be based at project site (if required). Secondary role will be as project engineer (if required).
