Job summary

PT Batu Ampar Container Terminal is seeking a Business Development professional to identify opportunities in Batam's hinterland and shipping sectors. You will build and maintain a database of manufacturers, exporters, importers, logistics firms and industrial estates, and develop opportunities with cargo owners and shipping lines.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience in business development or logistics, strong networking and negotiation skills, and fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in business development, shipping, logistics or freight forwarding.
• Strong networking, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia; Mandarin is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market studies of Batam area to identify opportunities.
• Build a database of manufacturers, exporters, importers, logistics firms and estates.
• Identify industries and investments to generate cargo.
• Develop commercial proposals and coordinate to win new business.
• Maintain relationships with cargo owners, lines, forwarders and service providers.
• Represent company at chambers and industry forums; monitor policy and infrastructure trends.
• Develop strategies to increase hinterland cargo through the terminal.
• Maintain sales pipeline and monthly performance reports.
